Transaction structuring
Commercial structure first. Financial instruments second.
Depending on the transaction, the structure can combine sales and purchase contracts, controlled payment mechanisms, receivables and third-party financial instruments.
Transaction structure may include
- Sales contract or SPA
- Purchase order or purchase contract
- Back-to-back contracts
- Assignment of commercial receivables
- Irrevocable payment instruction
- Escrow or controlled account
- Direct payment to supplier
- Collection from transaction revenues
- Revolving facility for multiple rotations
Financial instruments
- Documentary Letter of Credit — MT700
- Standby Letter of Credit
- Performance Bond — MT760
- Bank Guarantee
- Documentary Collection
- Escrow Arrangement
- Bridge Trade Facility
- Receivables Financing
- Credit Insurance
Financing and banking instruments are issued by licensed banks, funds or financial institutions and remain subject to their approval and terms.
MT700 and MT760 are SWIFT message types used by financial institutions in connection with certain documentary credits and guarantees.
